1. Guru Purnima

Guru Purnima is also known as a Guru Poonam. People come to their mentors (GURU) to take blessings. It comes in the month of July every year. People come to guru or their mentors or go to spiritual leaders to worship them. It is a birthday of Vyas the biggest spiritual guru of India.


2. Sharad Poornima

Sharad Poornima also known as Raas poornima or Kojagri poornima. It is said that moon lights up to the fullest then normal full moon. People do worship the moon and goddess laxmi on this special day. In Gujarat people eat doodh-pauva the dessert made from rice and milk. Also they play garba and enjoy celebrating sharad poonam.


3. Jhulan Poornima

This full moon celebration takes place in the observance of birth of Krishna. Krishna is placed in swing and all devotees enjoy swinging him. Krishna just got birth so people want to woo him by swinging him in a parna or jhula.


4. Magh Purnima

Magh Purnima come in the month of Magh. It is said that Lord Vishnu really delights in the brahm muhart of 1 to 2 hour by bathing in the sacred river. So people go to take bath in the sacred rivers to make the Lord Vishnu happy. People also observe fast for the enlightenment of soul.


5. Fagun Poornima

This is actually a festival called Holi. People do holika dahan on this special poonam of Fagun month. They burn the fire with lots of sticks to get rid from evil spirits. People do worship that burning fire by doing pradakshina. Also they shower grains on the burning fire to wish for the healthy growth of grains.
